Unique 18-40mm Focal Length
This compact, lightweight lens with approx. 155g weight is perfectly matches with DC-S9. It covers focal lengths from ultra wide 18mm for capturing expansive landscapes to standard 40mm for natural perspective, featuring 18-120mm with hybrid zoom (DC-S9).
Outstanding Close-up Shooting Performance
Closet focusing distance 0.15m at 18-21mm and maximum magnification 0.28x at 21mm let you shoot high resolution & beautiful bokeh images. It is perfect for both videography and photography.
Durability for Various Weather Conditions
The fluorine coating applied to the front lens prevents the sticking of oil-based dirt, in addition to a dust and splash resistant construction* that protects the lens system inside from sand, rain and more. This lens is also tough enough to withstand harsh environments at -10℃.

S-R1840 Construction
8 Elements in 7 Groups 2 ASPH / 3 ED / 1 UHR ASPH lenses correct astigmatism and provides high resolution performance. UHR lens ensures uniform image rendering across the entire frame from the center to the edges. ED lenses suppress axial color aberration and transverse chromatic aberration.
