8 consecutive images are shot while shifting the sensor using the B.I.S. system and synthesized into one image. The high-performance engine allows both JPEG and RAW recording or RAW processing in playback mode. It also supports provides flexibility for use without the need of a tripod to depict the finest details.

Recognizing a Specific Person

The advanced AI instantly calculates the features of the subject and identifies each individual subjects. Even in scenes where multiple people intersect, it persistently tracks the desired person with AF.**

*You can switch between Human, Animal, Car, Motorcycle/Bike, Train, and Airplane in the Type of Subject menu under Automatic Detection. **When AF Mode is set to Tracking and the Type of Subject under Automatic Detection is set to Human, and Eye/Face/Body is selected from Target Parts. It may select another subject if the subjects have similar clothes, colors, or posture, or if the subject you want to shoot is hidden for a prolonged period of time.

Advanced E.I.S. + Active I.S.

Active I.S. is installed. By combining with E.I.S. (HIGH), it compensates even large shake such as shooting in running situations. E.I.S. compensates perspective distortion* that occurs during video shooting.

*Phenomenon in which straight lines appear distorted, caused by perspective.

A Highly Adaptable Monitor for Any Style

A new 1,840k-dot tilt and free-angle rear monitor can be tilted up and down along the optical axis. Also, the monitor can be rotated freely while tilted without interfering with HDMI or USB cables, which is useful for photography and video shooting. The 5.76 million dots OLED monitor presents the subject with fine gradations and high clarity throughout, delivering eye-level resolution.

Adopting ergonomic design, the joystick on the S1RII is designed to be comfortable to use for long periods of time, with a shape and material that fit comfortably in your fingers.
